Cosmetic acupuncture (alternatively known as anti-aging acupuncture/ facial revitalisation acupuncture) is rapidly growing in popularity in the UK after high profile celebrities such as Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie have been reportedly using these techniques to look good naturally.

Chinese Cosmetology (the study and application of beauty) has a long history within Chinese medicine. The Chinese believe that beauty comes from within and so a beautiful exterior depends on a balanced, healthy interior. By combining their knowledge of natural health, Chinese medicine and acupuncture treatments, Dr Jessica and Dr Charley are able to provide an integrated approach towards enhancing beauty naturally. They are happy to give individual, tailored advice on diet and appropriate nutritional, herbal and skincare products to aid treatments.

Dr Jessica has completed a 2 year specialist training course in Chinese Cosmetology at Acumedic, London. Cosmetic acupuncture (and sometimes herbs) are used to stimulate the body to make you feel more radiant naturally. A session involves the insertion of fine gold or seirin needles into wrinkle lines and areas such as under the eyes, the jawline, scars or thread veins on the face or body during treatment this is relatively painless and many patients find it relaxing. Body acupuncture for general health is included. Cosmetic acupuncture is also offered by Dr Charley who has been fully trained by Dr Jessica and is an experienced Medical Acupuncturist registered with BMAS.

A course of 10-15 weekly treatments should be undertaken for best results. On achieving the required results monthly or 6 weekly treatments may be recommended to maintain improvement. There is a slight risk of short lived local bruising.
