Acupuncture is a natural way of bringing the body back into balance to create optimum health. It is based on ancient Chinese principles and is over 2000 years old. It is known to help with many conditions such as migraines headaches, chronic low back pain, neck pain, and knee osteoarthritis. What does acupuncture treatment involve?

Whilst lying down, up to 30 needles will be inserted into specific points on your body. The needles are so fine that they can barely be felt on insertion. However, the sensation of the needle touching the acupuncture point often registers as an unusual feeling (e.g. tinging/mild aching/ hot or cold) depending on the person or point. You are then left for 20 minutes to relax with the needles in position and then they are removed. The needles may be manipulated during this time. Up to 10 sessions either weekly or 2 weekly may be needed to reach maximum effect.
