Homeopathy is a safe and natural way to bring the body back into balance. It is the second most widely used system of medicine in the world, successful in treating a wide range of conditions by looking at the whole person and their individual symptoms and traits. It works on an energetic level to stimulate your body’s natural ability to heal.
Homeopathy is based on the principle that ‘like treats like’. Illnesses are treated with a *medicine which could produce similar symptoms. For example, onion can cause streaming eyes and nose, if these symptoms are present in a cold then the homeopath may prescribe the remedy Allium cepa made from onion. *The active ingredients are in diluted form avoiding toxicity and making homeopathic remedies very safe with other medications and for pregnant women and children.
Homeopaths take a detailed history and match your set of symptoms to a specific homeopathic remedy which you then take in tablet form as prescribed. By matching the remedy to the whole of you it improves your health on every level.
Dr Jessica and Dr Charley are trained homeopaths who completed a 3 year training at the Lakeland College of Homeopathy and are both registered members of the Alliance of Homeopaths.

The History of Homeopathy
omeopathy was founded by Dr Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) who, whilst translating medical texts, developed the law of similars – that a substance that causes certain symptoms in a healthy individual can be used to cure those specific symptoms occurring in disease.
With a background in chemistry and practising medicine he became unhappy with the dangers and side effects of current medical treatments. This led him to test his theory on himself and a group of volunteers by testing over 100 substances at increasing dilutions and recording the effects. Not only did he find that the toxicity and side effects were reduced but that the substance actually increased in strength as it was diluted!
Highly diluted substances have been shown to exert an effect in many reproducible studies. Bacteria react to ultra-diluted chemicals and white blood cells react to ultra-diluted histamine (click here to read further about the scientific evidence)
The body is 60-70% water. Water particles are highly polarised and have been shown to have unique properties. The most fascinating visual evidence of this has been compiled by Masaru Emoto who has put together thousands of pictures of frozen water crystals showing the effects of area, energy, words and thoughts upon water crystal formation.
How are remedies made?
he original substance is made into liquid and then goes through a process of potentisation which allows the remedy to keep the medicinal properties of the original substance without any of the harmful effects. There are over 4000 homeopathic remedies, a number continually growing although over two thirds of these are plants.
The homeopathic process involves serial dilution; placing a drop of the original substance into a bottle of water, then taking a drop from that bottle and placing it in another bottle of water and so on until the desired strength (potency) is reached. In between each dilution the bottle is succussed (energised by vigorous shaking – over 100 times) this imprints the energy pattern of the original substance into the water.
